Projects and Donations

The Commonwealth Assembly of Virginia is committed to supporting institutions that preserve, interpret, and safeguard the history of the Commonwealth. At the April 2024 Annual Meeting, members approved donations to several organizations whose work aligns with our mission of honoring Virginia’s early governance and historical legacy.

2024 Approved Donations

Henrico County Historical Society – Supporting local preservation initiatives and public history programs.
Friends of the Library of Virginia – Assisting efforts to expand access to Virginia’s archival collections and historical resources.
Friends of the Virginia State Archives – Contributing to the preservation and accessibility of vital records and archival materials documenting Virginia’s past.

These contributions reflect the Assembly’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the institutions that protect Virginia’s documentary heritage and ensure that future generations may continue to study and appreciate the Commonwealth’s formative history.
